Bow Valley College is Alberta’s largest comprehensive community college. From humble beginnings 50 years ago, we now serve over 16,000 learners annually with locations throughout Southern Alberta, including three state-of-the-art campuses in downtown Calgary and six additional regional campuses.

Reporting to the Dean, Business and Technology, the role of the Associate Dean is to provide academic leadership to the School of Creative Technologies and programs to promote excellence in teaching and learning and to foster a culture of scholarly activity. The Associate Dean provides support and mentorship as the direct supervisor to faculty and staff, and supports faculty and staff in their professional development and scholarly activity to ensure delivery of a consistently high quality learning experience.

Together with the Dean, the Associate Dean provides leadership and direction with partnerships and collaborative initiatives that involve the community, professional associations, agencies, and other post-secondary institutions.

The ideal candidate brings demonstrated strong leadership capabilities, with the ability to gain the confidence and respect of external stakeholders, College leaders, faculty and staff members. You will have the ability to influence the organization at various levels and build consensus towards achieving the vision and goals of the College. You will have a relevant Master’s degree, combined with a commitment to instructional and service excellence and creating a learner-focused environment that fosters excellent adult learning opportunities, exploring innovative approaches and access to learning.
