We are seeking a positive, dynamic, and dedicated individual to join our faculty and staff as the Director of Advancement. This is an excellent opportunity for the right person to make a positive impact on the school by expanding and improving our fundraising and alumni relations programs. As we welcome our new Head of School in 2019, SJK is poised for an exciting strategic renewal, investing in our strengths and building for our future. It is within this context that SJK is seeking applications and nominations of collaborative and ambitious leaders who will bolster philanthropic support and inspire greater alumni engagement to serve in the role of Director of Advancement.  

The Director of Advancement will be responsible for establishing, implementing and evaluating our fundraising strategies and plans designed to generate robust and sustainable revenue streams that enable the continued advancement of SJK’s mission, vision and goals. This role will include creating an annual campaign and major gifts program, leading donor acquisition, cultivation, stewardship efforts, maintaining the donor database, overseeing and enhancing our alumni activities and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders. The Director of Advancement will report to the Head of School and will work closely with the Development & Facilities Committee and the SJK Foundation Board.

The Director of Advancement position requires a leader with a high degree of professionalism and competency as well as a demonstrated data-driven decision-making approach. The ideal candidate will possess 10 years of philanthropic leadership and possess a passion for, and demonstrated track record of success establishing a sustainable advancement program including transformational philanthropic gifts. As SJK embarks on its next Strategic Plan, the ideal candidate will also bring experience in envisioning, articulating and fulfilling the philanthropic vision of an organization. An undergraduate degree is required, although an advanced degree is preferred as well as CFRE designation. Knowledge and expertise of Raiser’s Edge would also be an asset.
