CCAE looks forward to hosting a fantastic CCAE National Conference from June 5 - 7, 2018 at The Westin Halifax in Halifax, Nova Scotia. The National Conference brings together professionals from all across Canada to learn, collaborate and share Canadian advancement triumphs.

CCAE and the National Conference Program Committee are looking for dynamic and engaging presenters to participate in the conference program.

Please share your innovations, best practices and benchmarks in a presentation proposal - using this handy survey form - by Friday, October 20, 2017.

Preparing your submission

When completing your proposal submission, you will be asked to specify the following information:

  1. Session format:
    • Presentation, case studies, or interactive workshop
    • Panel session (indicate number of panelists)
    • 10-minute snap session
    • A different format or topic idea (pitch it!)
  2. Audience
    • Advancement services
    • Alumni relations
    • Communications and marketing
    • Development / fundraising
    • Government/community relations
    • Combination of advancement disciplines (please specify)
  3. Experience / expertise level your presentation is geared to
    • Emerging (0 – 5 years)
    • Mid-career (6 – 12 years)
    • Seasoned (13 years plus)
  4. 1 – 3 outcomes / deliverables the audience will take away from your presentation
  5. A session description of 100 words or less
  6. A maximum 100-word profile or bio of each presenter, including current position title and institution.

Selection Procedure 

The CCAE National Conference Program Committee will review submitted proposals and select the most appropriate and timely for inclusion in the conference. You will be notified in January 2018 as to whether your proposal was successful.

Please read the following guidelines before submitting your session proposal.

  • CCAE reserves the right to accept or reject any / all submissions.
  • CCAE reserves the right to edit or otherwise make changes to the session title, description, and presenter / panelist bios.
  • CCAE may combine speakers from different Institutions whose presentations cover similar topics.
  • CCAE reserves the right to determine the length of each presentation.
  • Any presentation materials for approved sessions must be submitted to CCAE no later than three weeks prior to the conference (by May 16, 2018).
  • Conference Sponsors are welcome to participate as session presenters, provided they are registered for the conference and their presentation is made in partnership with a representative from a CCAE member institution.
  • Presenters are responsible for their own expenses, including conference registration, travel, hotel accommodations, and any meals or special events not included in conference registration fees.
  • CCAE may offer a discounted registration fee for presenters from CCAE member institutions (not Sponsors); discount to be specified.
