Sessions

Making the case!
Helen Nichols  - Executive Director, Campaign, University of British Columbia
Lindsay Lynch  - Manager, Research and Development Proposals, Faculty of Medicine, University of British Columbia

Cases for support can take a variety of forms. They are often associated with campaigns and large projects. While sometimes the result is a glossy finished product full of information, inspiring messages, and photos – “making the case” is a process that is just as important as the material produced. Come hear about UBC’s experiences with the recent start an evolution fundraising and alumni engagement campaign, the current Blue and Gold Campaign for Students, and projects in the Faculty of Medicine – UBC’s largest faculty fundraising program. Process used, materials produced, current state and reflections on “if I knew then” will be explored. This will also be an opportunity for participants to share and learn from each other

Objectives:
  • Strategies for assessing the potential ROI of case development
  • Understanding the role of context in the approach to case development
  • Considerations for aligning case content with major gift strategy
