Stewardship’s essential role in Campaign planning
Focusing on Stewardship as a key driver in Fundraising Campaign preparation and planning to ensure success.
Jennifer O’Neill, Campaign Director, Office of Development, Memorial University
David Penney, Manager, Stewardship Programs, Office of Development, Memorial University
The presentation will look at Stewardship as a key driver in setting the stage for a Campaign, providing the context for best practices related to stewardship strategy and tactics that support this work.
An essential tool, stewardship planning is the foundation for success and ultimately provides the donor relations structure that will bridge fundraising activities to future campaigns. Starting with an inventory and assessment of current practices, this presentation will chart the steps through the strategy development process to the formulation of an action plan with achievable milestones and a vision for success.
In a post-secondary environment, the scope of stewardship planning is broad and multi-faceted. We will also touch on areas of consideration that include the review of related resources / staff structure, specific institutional policies and procedures, as well as unit, school and faculty collaboration and information sharing.
