Focusing on Stewardship as a key driver in Fundraising Campaign preparation and planning to ensure success.
Jennifer O’Neill, Campaign Director, Office of Development, Memorial University
David Penney, Manager, Stewardship Programs, Office of Development, Memorial University
The presentation will look at Stewardship as a key driver in setting the stage for a Campaign, providing the context for best practices related to stewardship strategy and tactics that support this work.
An essential tool, stewardship planning is the foundation for success and ultimately provides the donor relations structure that will bridge fundraising activities to future campaigns. Starting with an inventory and assessment of current practices, this presentation will chart the steps through the strategy development process to the formulation of an action plan with achievable milestones and a vision for success.
In a post-secondary environment, the scope of stewardship planning is broad and multi-faceted. We will also touch on areas of consideration that include the review of related resources / staff structure, specific institutional policies and procedures, as well as unit, school and faculty collaboration and information sharing.
Why podcasts are the best tool to engage your audience
Christian Robillard, MPNL, Head of Stakeholder Engagement at Farm Radio International and Founder of Purpose Podcasting
Over the pandemic, it seems like everyone has come out with a podcast…but why is that? After all – why compete with so many others for attention AND add something else to your plate.
Well, here are just a few reasons:
78% of Canadians familiar with podcasts
Podcast recall is 4.4 times higher than other digital media
Retention of audio is 36-39% higher compared to video
Audio listeners spend 60% more time with audio vs social media
Podcasts thrive when they serve a niche audience on niche topics – so less is more
So, shouldn’t the question be why HAVEN’T you started your own podcast?
In this session, we’ll make the case for why your organization should (or shouldn’t) have a podcast, how to get it launched for under $1,000 and how to make it an impactful channel that you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it.

An understanding of the podcast landscape and why you should (or shouldn’t) launch one
