#CCAE2024 Special Events

Bring your appetites and whimsical curiosity to #CCAE2024 Special Events. All evening events include plenty of food and beverages on top of the venue specific offerings. Note: none of the events this year include a formal sit-down dinner, as CCAE is seeking a more informal approach that maximises social connection.

All special event tickets are included in the Full Conference Registration Package. Additional tickets for those purchasing one day conference packages will be available for purchase starting April 22.

Manulife Opening Reception Event

Event Details
The opening reception provides attendees with an exceptional atmosphere to start off the conference and reunite with colleagues. CCAE is taking you out for a “whale of a time” – literally. Join CCAE and National Partner Manulife for an exceptional opportunity to welcome each other to the conference, reconnect over great food and drink, and pay homage to the 2024 Outstanding Achievement Award recipient.

  • The dress code is business casual, we know you’ve been travelling so no need to wear gala attire.
  • A ticket to the Opening Reception is included for all in-person full package registrants of the National Conference. If you purchased a one-day registration package, you will need to purchase a ticket to the opening reception.
  • Transportation from the Delta Hotel is included for those who purchase tickets to the Evening Event and delegates who purchase the full conference package.

It’s time to celebrate and enjoy a night of fun, elegance, and beauty. At this evening event CCAE and National Partner TD Insurance Meloche Monnex will take you to The Rooms – Newfoundland and Labrador’s largest public cultural space. At this venue, history, heritage and artistic expression come together. Throughout the evening you will enjoy the tastiest of Newfoundland fare, followed by a celebration of the 2024 TDIMM Fellowship recipients.

  • The dress code is fancy – but be kind to your feet as there are stairs at this venue.
  • A ticket to the Evening Event is included for all in-person full package registrants of the National Conference.  If you purchased a one-day registration package, you will have to purchase a ticket to the awards evening.

It’s a date! Join us for the highly anticipated social event of the conference – this year CCAE and Presenting Partner Blackbaud are taking you out for dinner and a theatrical performance only Newfoundland can offer at the Spirit of Newfoundland theatre. Join the festivities as you socialize and unwind with your colleagues – and be a part of the time honoured Newfie tradition of being SCREECHED IN – “Yes b’y!”. There are non-alcoholic Screech-In options available for anyone wishing not to imbibe alcoholic beverages.

  • The dress code is casual, and it is highly encouraged that you represent your school and wear your school swag to amplify this entertaining evening.

This session discusses a competency framework developed at Kwantlen Polytechnic University for generative artificial intelligence use – not by computer scientists but, rather, by the rest of us. AVP, Academic, David Burns discusses some of the early challenges he saw in his corner of the institution and some of the ways in which the team he works with faced them.

McGill Women Take the Lead: Inspiring Women’s Philanthropy in Annual Giving

This vital conversation focuses on inspired leadership from women philanthropists in an Annual Giving context. This session provides a case study on a volunteer-led fundraising initiative that raised $130,000 in 12 months from McGill alumnae, highlighting the roles of the Annual Giving, Alumni Relations and Communications teams in supporting the volunteers. This session also explores how such initiatives could be successful in other underrepresented donor constituencies.
